![]() If both parents do not share a specific IV stat, you can guarantee that one parent's IV in that stat can be passed down to the egg with the use of Power Items. ![]() If both parents share an IV however, the egg is guaranteed to carry down that stat. In the case that there is a difference of one between the parents' IV's, there's a 50/50 chance that the egg will receive either one. The egg can have either of the parents' IV's, for each specific stat, or a medium of both (Note that the medium will always be the most likely outcome when breeding). When breeding, the parents IV's can be passed down to an egg. If the gender is not selected by the player when given the opportunity, the egg produced has an even chance to hatch into either the male or female variant (i.e. There are two pairs of Pokémon families where the male and female are different species. The gender of an egg can be selected while breeding (unless its male/female only) with prices varying based on the gender ratio of the egg.
